Why a game, and why sixty seconds
Takeaway queues move in bursts. A game fills the dead minute and turns "how long?" into "watch this".
It also multiplies: one person playing becomes three people watching and trying to beat the score.
The QR on the counter card opens it instantly — no app, no account, no menu to scroll first.
Prizes that cost you almost nothing
- a free garlic bread with the next order
- 10% off collection orders this month
- a free can with any large pizza
- a spot on the wall for the top score
Whatever you pick, say it the same way every time. A prize nobody explains is a prize nobody wants.
Three things that make it work
Tape the card to the counter, facing the queue. Not facing you — facing the person who is waiting.
Pick a prize that costs pennies.Garlic bread costs you very little and reads as a real win.
Run a weekly top score.A whiteboard scoreboard turns a 60-second game into a reason to come back on a quiet Tuesday.
What is actually in the kit
One zip, four files, built in your browser in about two minutes:
- index.html — the whole game with your name, colour and prize baked in. Works offline, on any phone or tablet.
- table-tent.png — a printable A5 card for the counter, with a real QR code to the game.

Questions shop owners ask
Will it slow the queue down?
The game is 60 seconds and starts when they want it to. Most people play one round while they wait, not five.
Can I use it for delivery customers?
Yes — put the link in your order confirmation or on the box sticker. Same kit, same QR.
Do I need to pay a subscription?
No. Once you have the kit it is yours. Hosting is optional and only if you want us to run it.
